Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS) Compliance
From 6 April 2007, a key legal requirement for landlords renting a property in the private sector is Tenancy Deposit Protection (TDP) legislation, where a landlord must use a government approved TDP scheme to register a tenancy deposit for protection.
The schemes protect tenants' deposits and ensures that landlords and letting agents are compliant with legislation. Landlords are deemed to be compliant when the deposit is registered in an authorised protection scheme and the tenant is provided with the prescribed information.
Our team of legal professionals can assist in ensuring that landlords are compliant with DPS regulations.
